"Landscapes"

The photographs of Carola Vogt and Peter Boerboom are about signs of civilization, that "shift themselves" in nature. They describe places into which the "beautiful landscape" is interwoven with anonymous, often unexplainable architectural rubble. With their work, Vogt and Boerboom navigate in an in-between space, which allows the landscape to appear neither romantic, nor following a usual, culturally-critical point of departure. Out of the emblematic confrontation of "culture" and "nature," arise images laden with the poetry of the enigmatic.
